de Montfort Housing Society are a leading provider of retirement housing. All de Montfort Retirement Homes have been specially designed to cater for the needs of older people whose present homes are now too large for their requirements or are in circumstances where they are having increasing difficulty in maintaining those homes.

20 schemes of various types are in management, totalling 357 dwellings (for details see Schedule 1 at rear of handbook). Some of the schemes have been built by the Society with a Government subsidy; some others have been built by other organisations with the Society acting as a consultant. Other schemes have been built by developers who have engaged the Society to manage the scheme on completion.
